A recent study published in Review of the Economics of the Household is one more study that calls into question the claims of the American Psychological Association and American Sociological Association that when it comes to the effects on children, there is no difference between being raised in a home headed up by male-female parents and a home headed up by same-sex parents.
What did the researchers find? When looking at the rates of high school graduation, they found that the children of lesbian couples were the least likely to graduate (65% as likely as children of married, opposite-sex couples) – even more unlikely than children of single parents! They even discovered that male children raised in a lesbian home are less likely to graduate than male children raised in a gay home, and female children raised in a gay home are less likely to graduate than female children raised in a lesbian home. It appears that when it comes to parenting, moms and dads are not interchangeable. The gender of one’s parent does have an effect on kids.
The findings are significant because Canada has long supported same-sex couples (marriage benefits since 1997, and marriage since 2005), and the data set is extremely large (a 20% sampling of the Canadian population based on the data contained in the Canadian Census).

For a critique of Allen’s study, see Philip Cohen’s analysis. Mark Regnerus also points out a few limitations of the study, even though he finds the overall study credible and valuable.

The findings in this study are significant but not because of same sex unions but the way the children of same sex unions are see and treated by their peers.
For example in the days of slavery what was worse in the eyes of society the person they called nigger or the person called a nigger lover?
I submit that children are abused by society simply because they are associated with same sex and therefore subject to all the hatred and abuse a society can heap onto those held in low esteem. So I would submit that society’s treatment and non exception generally of same sex unions are rendered unto the children who has become Generation Closet (Generation “C”) because of the persistent bigoted denigration still permeating society, entire countries for examples that kill gays and that ostracize them like Russia in its recent Laws Against Gays.
When Society accepts gays as normal part of the civilization and lets go to the old religious bigotry of uneducated stoneagism I submit that children of same sex unions will surpass the general public as outstanding in their class.
On the other hand of course by the time society catches up with itself and the tail stops wagging the dog, perhaps the children of same sex unions will be integrated and become a normal part of the civilizing, not alienated from it.

Adolescent children of same sex unions are at an elevated risk for developing psychosocial problems especially those relating to self-concept, peer relationships and appearance. The gender anomaly may impact an individual’s self-esteem, social skills and behavior and contribute to the Closet Syndrome by the hate culture most responsible for alienating them.

I feel sorry for those poor children. If they had a home situation they could be truly proud of, ( since they alone know its true virtue or lack thereof), they would take the criticism & have an “i’ll show them” attitude & exceed the norms in performance. The criticism of some is cruel , on the other hand you have multiple powerful figures in the school portraying those children as heroes of some kind. So they receive far more praise than the average child while also enduring the admitted criticism. The worst to be condemned are the liberals who engineered the “parental”perversion that the poor kid must live under.

Sonny:
According to your home situation analogy; that would apply even if the children are from a “home situation” you might approve of but those children are still subject to bullying, for example, and some even commit suicide
Your conclusion simply shows a bigoted but unreasonable and illogical.
And you can blame your God that is responsible for all things in the creation, for engineering gestational anomalies that allow apparent same sex individuals to be born, handicapped people to be born, brain injury people, deformed children, Downes Syndrome people, or for every gestational anomaly, inherited diseases, acquired diseases like polio, even the H1N1 flu that has killed children and other viral infections, mosquito born diseases, malaria.
And please dont give me that tired old hackneyed excuse of “free will” which is another religious farce to justify and excuse evil, moral or otherwise, from the debit plate of your Almighty Created God.
Children do not know true virtue by themselves;they learn such things from adults and that’s why religion targets children for chld abuse abuse by warping their minds with ludicrous, religious-insanity, stories.
Clearly those early few months and years of life are a very sensitive time and whatever ideas are imprinted into the soft putty of the unformed mind at that stage stays there pretty much forever and yet for some reason, here in the civilized world, it’s still perfectly legal for us to indoctrinate our children with the most hateful and divisive absurdities it’s possible to imagine. And imagined them we have.
Creating in them not young, vibrant, healthy, inquiring minds but rather stunted little freakish minds that are no use to anyone but a bloodsucking preacher.
We not only allow this abuse, we actively encourage it; we throw public money at it. What we’d be better off at is subsidizing the tobacco industry because that does less harm. At least cigarettes carry a health warning. How about a mental health warning? On the holy scriptures?
