An Iowa judge has ruled that Polk County’s marriage laws are unconstitutional because they forbid same-sex couples from the institution of marriage. Judges forcing same-sex marriage on the citizens is becoming so common. Hopefully the judges decision will be overturned on appeal.

I wish the polygamists, etc. would make similar cases:
“I started to cry because we so badly want to be able to be protected if something happens to any one of us,” the polygamist said.
“Groups, such as plaintiffs, who are otherwise qualified to marry one another may not be denied licenses to marry or certificates of marriage or in any other way prevented from entering into a civil marriage … by reason of the fact that there are more than two persons are involved,” the judge would say if he were honest and consistent.

Agreed. The fact that the judge (and those who argue like him) cannot apply their principles to other analogous situations shows that these are not justified reasons for granting same-sex couples the rights of marriage.
