The whole concept raises some interesting questions. When the Bible makes distinctions based on gender, how does surgery affect things in God’s eyes?
Let’s say Eve has surgery to become Steve. Can Steve, as a man, become a pastor? Can Steve, as a man, marry a woman? If “Steve” cannot marry a woman because “he” is still a woman in God’s eyes, then is it okay in God’s eyes for this woman “Steve” to marry a man?
I would argue that gender distinctions are both spiritual and physical. While one may re-engineer or alter their physical makeup, their spirit is still the gender they were born with.
Steve may become Eve physically, but not spiritually. Therefore, (St)Eve cannot marry a man. (St)eve needs to repent for trying to change the image of God in Him to something other than God assigned him, stop taking estrogen hormone injections, and try to undo the sex change operation to the best of his ability. If after doing so, he wants to marry a female, and a female is willing to marry him, let him marry.
