Radio host, Andrew Tallman, has been running a series over at Townhall on the topic of capital punishment that is absolutely superb. He makes a persuasive case for capital punishment, and does an outstanding job answering both religious and secular objections to it. I would highly recommend his articles on this subject.

Greetings! in the name of the Lord Jesus who is God most High.
Capital punishment is wrong! War is wrong! For it is against God’s holy word that explicitly says, “Thou shalt not kill” and to love your enemies and to avenge not yourselves.
Therefore, those whom endorse capital punishment are murderers.
God bless you always! in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Marquet,
If you are right, then God is immoral, because God is the one who instituted capital punishment in Genesis 9, and reaffirmed it through Paul in Romans 13. Furthermore, God commanded Israelite’s to kill the inhabitants of Canaan. What God condemned as murder, not killing (there are two different Hebrew words, and the one in the ten commandments means murder, not kill).
