Isn’t it ironic that those who espouse to Darwinian evolution are also the least likely to have multiple children and most likely to support and/or obtain abortions. They are supposed to believe in survival of the fittest. Only those who reproduce stand a chance at survival, and those who reproduce the most stand the greatest chance for survival and subsequent evolution. Apparently Darwinian liberals are not fit to survive!
In all seriousness, I think this reveals the cognitive dissonance of liberals. They cannot consistently live out their worldview. In fact, given the maxim that people behave in accordance with their beliefs, I tend to think most adherents of Darwinism do not really believe it. They may give intellectual assent to it, but they don’t live it. All that matters is that God is out of the picture.

liberalism is an ideology based on the end, not the premise. it is, in its entirety, a failure of rational thought, and absolutely cannot withstand honest intellectual scrutiny.

I could not agree more. I love how liberals charge conservatives as being stupid and ignorant, and yet we are eminently more rational in our approach to the issues. Liberals rack up fallacious arguments like they are going out of style.

Just look “across the pond” at Great Britan being threaten not by godless Communism, but militant Islam after a century of Darwinism ruined the spiritual foundations of the country.

I read a comment by John Derbyshire at National Review Online about this. He’s entirely comfortable with the idea that the less intelligent, or more theistic, may be more fit to survive in our environment. “More fit” does not mean “better,” of course. A person genetically disposed to believe happy nonsense may be “fitter” than one inclined to believe sad truths.
Self awareness does cause one to make choices that are undesirable for an evolutionary standpoint. A person who acts “like an animal” may have dozens of children, while a person who acts “Christian” or “civilized” will have few, consciously limiting his contribution to the gene pool.
People also buy braces to straighten their children’s teeth, and purchase other forms of cosmetic tampering, to make their child appear “genetically superior.” Others go so far as to refrain from reproducing, or selecting children with “better” features from a sperm bank, so that their children will be better off. By doing that, they’re conceding that they’re inferior, no?

I don’t really see how what you said relates to the point of the post. If evolution is about survival, and survival is through one’s progeny, then those who subscribe to that worldview should be the ones who are opposed to abortion and have lots of children. Instead, they tend to be those who favor abortion and have small families. That is an inconsistency in their worldview. They don’t live out what they believe.
I’m not talking about genetic superiority and braces, but consistency.
