Earlier this week, Hawaii’s senate passed a same-sex marriage bill. Yesterday, the House approved a similar bill. It needs to go back to the senate for reconciliation, and then on to the governor for signature (who will sign it). This will make Hawaii the 15th state (not including D.C.) to approve same-sex marriage. Same-sex marriages will begin in Hawaii on December 2, 2013.
11/14/13 update: Governor Neil Abercrombie signed the bill into law on Wednesday, November 13, 2013.

“When we think about reality, remember:
The process with which you think about things is based upon indoctrination, what you’re given by society. So your RANGE of thought is limited by the dominant values of your society. We talk about civilization as though it’s a static state BUT, There are no civilized people yet; civilization is a process that’s constantly going on. As long as you have war, police, prisons, crime, religion, you’re in the early stages of what they call, “civilization”.
All the wonders and marvels of technology can amount to nothing unless it elevates humans to their highest potential.” jf
See Tom run. See Betty play. See Flip roll over in his grave.
See the bowling pin devolution of religious opposition to civilization crumble, Pin after Pin, State after State, Country after Country.
We didn’t understand why it rained, so we created a Rain God. When we came to understand meteorology, the Rain God was sacrificed on the alter of science. The Gods died in the name of progress. Now we have only a few left, Jehovah, Allah and plain old God and when we are a stronger minded species…knowledge will dissolve them too.
A stronger, secular, humanist world will sacrifice the last BIG 3 on the Altar of Science and Reason and finally be rid of the Reptilian Dominance of Religion.
Supporters of the Supernatural will also be Sacrificed on the altar of a modern, out of the cave mode, civilized world.
Are we there yet?
In a Spherical World the First will be Last and the Last will be First.
Are we there yet?

I wonder on your thoughts about how naturalism tries to explain our reasoning ability , the thing I have in mind is the rebuttal of Alvin Plantinga’s ‘Naturalism defeated’ and how they say that it is all closed system so our thoughts are sort of supposed to fit since they are the effect of those causes in the closed system of which are also other humans thoughts part and how it works all together . I had a debate with some online atheist about it and I won the debate but I still wonder is there any plausibility in that that our reasoning can be functional in such a system ?

Emma,
I don’t think naturalism can adequately explain our reasoning ability. On naturalism, everything is either construed as a strictly closed system (in which case everything is determined by prior physical events), or as a closed system with some room for randomness due to quantum events (in which case most everything is determined, and those things which are not determined are simply random). Either way, on naturalism there is no room for libertarian free will, which is required for genuine rationality and deliberation. If our thoughts are determined or random, then we are not the originators of our own thoughts. What we think is determined by physical events outside of our own control.

What Body is to Mind; Soul is to Emotion; Will is to Spirit.
Mind, Soul and Spirit is the Invisible you;
Body, Emotion and Will is the outside physical, visible behaviour of the real Invisible you on the inside.
It doesn’t matter how you slice and dice language you can only credit the Imagination, not the Caricature Concepts the Imagination devises.
