Ryan Anderson writes in the Daily Signal about a new study showing that contrary to the claims of some physician assisted suicide (PAS) advocates, legalizing PAS increases the number of suicides. Did we really need a study to tell us this? No, but these days common sense can’t get a hearing unless it is confirmed by a study.

Legalizing cigarettes increases the number of smokers too but studies do not stop the addiction nor do studies stop the negative health effects or trump common sense. The difference is that while increased suicides may initially spike it only happens once and will not addict the public but smokers keep on living and smoking and suffering the influence onto the youth who will rise up to fight for their right to die a long drawn out death.
On the other hand the logic of telling religious fanaticism that suicide bombers only do it once does not stop new recruits from the activity.
There does not seem to be any easy answers to the human mind about the human mind.
Maybe a Messiah needs to intervene but no…… they will kill him too.
