Many people, both Christian and non-Christian alike, define God in terms of just one attribute – love – to the neglect of all other attributes. And even then, they misunderstand love to mean unqualified acceptance and approval of our behaviors rather than God’s unqualified desire for our good as a person. As a result of this misunderstanding of God’s nature and His love, people question the existence of hell, the legitimacy of moral judgments, etc. Yes, God is love, but He is so much more. He is also just and holy.

God is not just love

Absolutely true. It’s also the case that many folks say “but he is also just” but then segue directly into non-Biblical views of justice, which is “sedeq & mispat.” So we can all agree it’s important to account for not only God’s attributes (e.g., his love, his justice, and his wrath) but also the nature of those attributes as expressed in Scripture (e.g., his abundant love, his measured justice, and his fleeting wrath).
Google “stanrock also just” for a deeper dive.

It is my belief that the Supreme Intelligence loves through us, individually. And through our Curiosity and our Reason, we are meant to gain Self Knowledge of this “Vehicle” (Our Body) and it’s connection to the Supreme Intelligence by individually doing the Inner Work necessary to bring this body and mind closer to the Divine Essence living in this vehicle.
When we grow into Adulthood on our Insides, we are then working with the Supreme Intelligence by facilitating Divine Love’s entrance into our world.

You are on point. I believe that the notion that God is *only* love cuts short on the divine attributes and may lead to unnecessary abstractions of God’s person. My favorite is the “Philosophical Defense of the Trinity.” Some philosophers like Alexander Pruss and William Lane Craig will use “God is Love” as an argument that God must be multi-personal in order to be *love* since *love* is a selfless act.

many people disagree with “hell” (eternal conscious torment) b/c it is a false doctrine. they cling to the verses that support them and ignore the ones that prove hell is annihilation.
