The telltale sign of fascism is the silencing of dissent. If you don’t agree with the fascists’ point of view, you will be de-platformed, cancelled, fired, imprisoned, or killed. Which side of the ideological aisle is engaging in fascism these days? Here’s a clue: It’s not the Right. While we haven’t seen the Left imprisoning or killing anyone in this country yet, given enough time, and given enough power, it will happen. It’s already happening in other countries, and we can see the same trajectory in our own.
Perhaps you have heard of the former Interior Minister of Finland, Päivi Räsänen, who is being charged for a hate crime because she publicly expressed her disapproval of homosexuality and same-sex marriage. She is facing up to two years in prison. Stories of people being arrested for expressing moral disapproval of homosex have been mounting over the years in Europe, Canada, and Australia. We are headed in the same direction if we keep electing the Left to positions of power because the Left is fascist at heart.

TR …………. well said. and to tie a few of your recent comments together.
many including myself were banned, had accounts suspended, numerous posts deleted for the crime of just questioning the 2020 election results while nothing happened to the libtards/rinos that questioned the 2016 election results ……. even after the Mueller Report found no collusion/didn’t charge for obstruction.

“Which side of the ideological aisle is engaging in fascism these days? Here’s a clue: It’s not the Right.”
Oh really? Fascism is defined as “an extreme right-wing political system or attitude that is in favour of strong central government, aggressively promoting your own country or race above others, and that does not allow any opposition.” https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/us/definition/english/fascism
and
“Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one national or ethnic group, a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach.” https://www.oxfordreference.com/view/10.1093/oi/authority.20110803095811414
Fascism uses propaganda to promote:
1. anti-liberalism, rejecting individual rights, civil liberties, free enterprise and democracy
2. anti-socialism, rejecting economic principles based on socialist frameworks
3. exclusion of certain groups, often through violence
4. nationalism that seeks to expand the nation’s influence and power
https://www.livescience.com/57622-fascism.html
And the 14 warning signs of fascism include:
1. Powerful and continuing nationalism
2. Disdain for human rights
3. Identification of enemies as a unifying cause
4. Rampant sexism
5. Controlled mass media
6. Obsession with national security
7. Religion and government intertwined
8. Corporate power protected
9. Labor power suppressed
10. Disdain for intellectual and the arts
11. Obsession with crime and punishment
12. Rampant cronyism and corruption

That certainly does sound like one political party and ex-president, doesn’t it? Here’s a clue: It’s not the Left.

If Trump didn’t allow any opposition, the mainstream media would have been shut down. He had more opposition than any president I have ever known. He didn’t shut down FB or Twitter. They shut him down.
Where is the right insisting on obedience to any government leader? The right constantly questions the government.
The right is not racist. Republicans were the party of anti-slavery. Democrats were the party of slavery. Jim Crow laws were in the Democratic South.
The violence I see is coming from BLM and Antifa, both Leftists. Show me where people on the right are engaging in violence to promote their ideas?

“If Trump didn’t allow any opposition, the mainstream media would have been shut down. He had more opposition than any president I have ever known. He didn’t shut down FB or Twitter. They shut him down.”
That’s because we live in a democracy and have certain rights that he kept running into. Time and time again he tried to subvert our democracy but was unable to do so–like trying to use the DOJ and military to advance his own interests (he tried to have the Justice Dept. shut down late-night comedians who made fun of him, for example). Admiral McRaven even admitted Trump’s attitude toward the media consituted “perhaps the greatest threat to democracy in my lifetime.”
“Where is the right insisting on obedience to any government leader? The right constantly questions the government.”
Oh sure, they do so now that Trump lost, but they were mostly extremely quiet when he was in power. They obeyed him when he said “take back America” and fight at the Capitol, they said nothing when he made multiple concessions to opposition governments (NK, Russia, Taliban, etc.), they wanted to hang Mike Pence for doing his job, they said nothing when he openly rejected the science on the pandemic, they believed his conspiracy theories about a stolen election, they didn’t say anything against the tax cut that increased the deficit by $1 trillion by 2020 and projected to increase the national debt by over $10 trillion, they didn’t complain when Trump repeatedly violated the Hatch act and Emoluments Clause…the list goes on and on.
“The right is not racist. Republicans were the party of anti-slavery. Democrats were the party of slavery. Jim Crow laws were in the Democratic South.”
You’re right that the Republicans were the party of anti-slavery and that Democrats supported slavery and Jim Crow laws…but that party no longer exists. Neither does the original racist Democratic party. Starting with Harry Truman desegregating the military and up through LBJ passing the Civil Rights Act, the racists switched from the Dems to the Republicans (https://www.theroot.com/how-the-republican-party-became-the-party-of-racism-1827779221). But you don’t even have to study history to see that the bulk of racists are in the Republican party now. The KKK, neo-Nazis and all the other white supremacists are virtually all Republicans now, and the people most fighting for social justice and social equality are Democrats.
“The violence I see is coming from BLM and Antifa, both Leftists. Show me where people on the right are engaging in violence to promote their ideas?”
But that’s just demonstrably not true. How many people has Antifa killed in the past 25 years? As of July 2020, they had killed NONE. Meanwhile, right-wing extremists committed 329 murders: https://www.businessinsider.com/right-wing-extremists-kill-329-since-1994-antifa-killed-none-2020-7 . Right-wingers have even killed more than three times as many people in the US as Islamic jihadists. Homeland Security has determined white supremacists are the greatest threat to US security: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/12/us/politics/domestic-terror-white-supremacists.html . And who can forget that the assault on our democracy when hundreds of Trump supporters attacked the Capitol building and even beat up police to prevent Biden from becoming president. What else is that but people on the right engaging in violence to promote their ideas? Is there even anything that comes CLOSE to that perpetrated by the left? I don’t think you can justifiably make that argument.
